Let's see if we can get this thread deleted......:

(run-on sentence to follow)
Aside from the fact that I don't much appreciate ostentatious Glamor Bikes built for the sole purpose of appealing to the buyer looking to spend his "extra" money on something that screams CONSPICUOUS CONSUMPTION,

and the Baa Baaaa fools who follow them wishing that they too could be FILTHY rich enough to buy/ride one,

AND.......
(take a breath here)

the fact that I'm not particularly fond of the Rosanne Barrs of the world (trailer trash with money),

I don't so much mind the show......

as I do the popularity that "OCC" has single handedly been responsible for making televised screaming, cussing, throwing things, and juvenile behavior by adults

POPULAR?!?!?!?

You got yer chopper shows, yer crazy expensive modified car shows, and NOW...... ya got some fool and his wife cussing at one another on a new show marketing & customizing speed boats??????

Seems the television viewing public gets a kick outa watching white trash (w/money) making fools out of themselves on TV!

By the way, Mikey has a healthy sense of humor and provides comic relief from the disfunctional antics of the father...... who seems to FAVOR Mikey and treat him with kid gloves. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

(and why hasn't this thread been deleted yet? The moderator at 'Twin Talk' woulda normally steped in and insisted it is not Triumph related, nor contributing to the spirit of triumphrat.net)

I second the motion..!!

It's plain and simple: Reality TV ain't real, no more than this subject is Triumph (Thruxton) related..

Let's kill it!!!! Grab a pitch fork!!! AAAAGGGGHHH!!!!

Oh btw, I saw OCC's copper bike at the Ft.Worth TX Cycle World MC Show this weekend. They actually made the aircleaner/carb into some sort of mock up of the torch held by the Statue of Liberty....you shoulda seen all the motorcyclist wannabes standing around telling each other how cool this thing was. All eight feet of it.

Meanwhile, MG's Griso stood by itself, the BMW HP bike sat lonely, Suzuki's M109s were also unattended, the only Triumphs I saw were among the classic portion of the show. The Urals got some good picking over. Folks thought they were interesting.

I wish they would create a show that just on old bike restorations. You know, like the real thing. "This Old Triumph"

I think most of us would rather watch stuff like this anyway:The James Dean Replica Bike

Delete away!

Not if the "This Old House" people did it...

They would strip off every old mechanical part and "upgrade" it to new. We'd see beautiful old bikes like the hurricane be stripped and rebuilt with parts from the Rocket III to "update" and "improve" it.

DAM*IT ALL!

I thouroghly enjoyed watching Part 1 & Part 2 of the OCC stooges in Great Britain.....

I'm quite serious, loved it.

But dam*it, we ARE "ugly Americans"...... aren't we?
At least that's what those who watch that will be convinced of.
