How hard is it to switch out the rear suspension on a Thrux? Are there any special tools/tips you might offer?

No special tool required. Un-bolt old an bolt on new. Really easy. Of course do one shock at a time. Also you might want to loosen pipes an rotate them outward, gives you some wrenching room, and you will not end up with accidental dings on them.

Grab a beer and head to the garage.
Good Luck

It dosn't matter how fast or well you do the shock swap. The Russian judge will still give you a 6.1 score

Unless the *&$%#*@ bushings do not come off with the shock.
