I’m thinking of buying a Thruxton so I ordered this sound clip from the very kind Tim Cole at MotoTwin. I like what I hear and Tim assured me that my neighbours will do the same.

I'm obviously very biased. That being said, IMHO the MotoTwin SS Silencers are the best sounding, best constructed, most civilized and arguably one of the best performing mufflers out there. I'm ecstatic about my full system on my personal ride.

I'm very happy with mine - both sound and build quality

Those sound great! I have the TORs and they have a raspier, more metallic quality to them. The MotoTwins have a nice smooth sound.

I used to think they were rather quiet. When you are on the bike, you can still hear the engine. I recently had to opportunity to hear them from behind while the bike was in motion. Definitely like them a lot more after hearing that. Nice smooth sound, as mentioned above. Sounds very similar to the clips I've heard from the vintage bikes.

I spent a few days riding with Racedweeb in the NC and North GA mountains and can tell you those mototwin pipes sound great. Almost as good as him playing the washboard. :-D JCW

I had Triumph's own "off road" silencers fitted to my Thruxton. The one thing I really didn't like when I rode the demonstration bike was the lack of any sound. The off road pipes make the bike sound like I think a Triumph should sound.
What I like about them is that they look exactly like the originals so don't alter the look, which I love, and they are genuine Triumph parts! They are also cheaper at £300.00.

I really like my D&D's...... I really love the way those SS' look and sound!

If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with the SS'!
