Okay, so I'm ig'nant........

But I presume that finned box below our headlamp is part of the "ignition."

Have I compromised the cooling to said 'ignition' with the recent installation of my Bikini fairing from Omar's?????

Hard to tell, looks like it still gets some air. You could probably trim some off the bottom, improve air fow and not hurt the looks. If it was mine I would.-T1

Hey Pat.

That's the voltage regulator for the charging circuit. I don't reckon you'll have any cooling issues. Ducati put their's under the fairing.

Aprilia sticks their one under the tail section plastic and they are dead reliable bikes.

Nothing to worry about. That's essentially the way it's set up on a Thruxton with the Triumph flyscreen.

Thanks guys,

I already had to butcher that fairing to get it to fit..... I didn't wanna be bothered with it again.

It's not going to be a problem for you. I've had my quarter faring for 2K miles without any issue.

I was going to tear you a new one until I saw your rides! :-D I've had no issues with anything post eighties. These things will sink enough heat even in still air.

Actually, the only charging fault I've experienced with either of my Ducs (insert: me knocking wood!) was with the wiring itself. It's very light gauge with poor insulation that tends to melt through and short together or against the frame. My remark was based on the very numerous issues I've read about from other Ducati owners on the Ducati lists, it seems to be a non-stop issue. But thanks for going easy on me!
