During a ride last week I noticed that oil was leaking from the left side of my front cam gasket. I noticed it after parking my bike on it's stand for several minutes. I called and made an appointment to have the gasket replaced this week but have rode the bike since and the leak has not reappeared.

I'm wondering if I should cancel my appointment to replace the gasket seeing the leak seems to have stopped. I have 1100 miles on my bike.

Any thoughts or comments?

Better safe than sorry. The leak may only appear when the engine is hot, oil is thinner etc. Just a thought. Good luck.

Are you sure its not the infamous cosmolene - the stuff the Poms coat your bike with so it doesn't corrode on the trip across? If your Thrux hasn't done many miles its a safe bet that's what it was. Some folks have reported it appearing even after getting up towards 1000 miles.

Anyway, if it doesn't come back there's nothing to worry about unless you're paranoid like me and worry that it MIGHT come back.
