Hello everyone, I've been lurking around the site for a bit now, since I discovered the Thruxton, and decided I need it.

I have a couple of questions, though...

When I finally do get a Thrux, I would very much like it to be styled similar to the Mecatwin Thruxton, and, if I understand correctly, they still don't sell tanks or seats as stand alone parts, correct? Is there a tank builder that can replicate the Mecatwin tank, and has anyone had that done? What about the seat?

Second, do the Mecatwin bikes have shortened shocks and forks? This picture makes the Meca look shorter, but it could be an optical illusion
.

So, any information would be great. Great site, and many great bikes on here!

Jake

Yes, it's a real shame Mecatwin doesn't (yet) offer those tanks for sale as they are really hot looking..! There is another tank builder located in Scotland called "The Tank Shop" and they also do seats. Take a look at some of their stuff, looks good and priced good too..!

Mecatwin has lowered the bike. A company called VD clasics has a similar tank. Check out my album under the T's for thrux mods and a mecatwin album.-thruxtonone

Thruxtonone - your album was where I first saw the Mecatwin bikes...

I checked out VD classic ...YIKES...pretty steep prices on the tank. I think I will settle for the stock tank for a while.

The seat, is that just regular leather over foam? It looks more like a rubbery material.
