I rode my bike to a sand volleyball tournament I was in a few weeks ago and a bunch of women asked to see my bike. I love the Thruxton and didn't buy it to pick up chicks. However, when they saw it they were all dismayed that I wasn't riding some big fat Harley cruiser. What a shame that society so over values the bandwagon mentality.

I can tell you that if I go to a rally and park the bike by a $30,000 custom chopper, more people stop to check out the Thrux than the chopper that has become a cliche. I get stopped by old timers all the time wanting to talk about the Bonneville they once had. In fact, I walk away from the bike as fast as I can when I go to one of these because I'm always chased by someone that wants to ask about it. It was cool at first, but now it's kind of repetitive.

So, like many of you, I march to the beat of my own drum and I don't care what others think. I just thought I'd post this to see what your experiences are.

When people see me in a restaurant or some shopping place with my helmet they ask me what I ride. When I say a Triumph 90% just walk away while the other 10% tell me they had a 650 Bonnie back in the day.

When I ride my Rocket around people ask me if it is a custom bike. Apparently they can't read Triumph on the side or have no clue what a Triumph is. I am actually embarrassed for these people the most.

Your post reminds me of something that happened to me last year. My previous bike was a Magna. I was at a biker street dance and an attractive woman came up and asked me what I ride. I said, "A Honda". She literally turned and went the other way without saying a word. I thought later I should have lied because she wouldn't know the difference anyway.

I think you guys hang around the wrong women; around here they get way wetter for european bikes than american-style choppers.

No numbers. Sorry. Two lawyers from out of town. One straight, the other a self proclaimed lesbian that hadn't been with a man in 5 years. She was the hotter of the two and after a few drinks I thought I had nothing to lose by making a pass at her. That was the ticket.

I am exhausted from all the threesomes, foursomes, and menages-a-you-name it since I got the Thrux. Here in CA chicks run after you butt nekkid screaming for love if you ride one.

Or maybe it's just me, I dunno...
