Find i'm continually scraping the side stand,(especially two up) has anyone tried fitting the new centre stand and removing the side stand........will it give more or less ground clearance. just a thought?

If anyone has bought the new Thruxton centre stand yet?
is it available yet? does it fit well?

Really? I have only scraped the left peg but I didn't hit the stand then. I thought it was pretty well tucked away up under there, but then again, I can't see it when I'm riding  I guess if you were two-up, that would explain it.

I would think that the center stand would reduce your clearance, but I haven't seen the Thruxton part yet.

Steve :-g

EDIT: After reading my own post I realize I was virtually no help whatsoever...ok, centerstands generally hit pavement before sidestands in my experience...that's about the best I can do

First line of defense is better suspension, did you up the preload on your shocks to deal with the passenger? Taller shocks set up correfctly will do wonders. After that tires with taller profiles.

Just to elaborate, have fitted "Staintune pipes" which I am more than happy with , but with the rubber piece fitted(between the side stand and pipes) doesn't now allow the side stand to tuck in as it did with the stock pipes, consequently scrapes easily even with the preload set on max as I have now.

might be time to junk the spacer and put up with the rub mark on the exaust or new shocks, not sure if it will fix the problem, maybe a bit of panel beating and grinding of the side stand will help.

Anyone had this problem , or fixed it?

Motothrux, I have the same problem, the side stand grinds on the bar/tab your foot uses to kick out the stand. I'm running upgraded suspension with Hagon Nitros, F3 forks and Race tech springs and gold valves, but I also lowered the bike on the suspension, but raised it some with taller tire profiles. The little bar/tab is ground about 1/2 way through now. Some more miles and it will take care of itself when it's ground completely off the bike. I'm running Predators and the stand is tucked in pretty well - but it's still the 1st thing to touch down. You can see the little bar hanging out there in this picture. JCW

If you really want to raise the bike, do the F3 forks (which are 2" or so longer) and taller shocks.

I fixed mine by bending the side stand stop on the Staintune till it equaled the clearance of the stock system. With permission of Staintune of course.
