I posted this below and really want to get more feedback on riding positions on the Thruxton. Any tips?
Hey Guys,
What a great group with great ideas! I will start surfing for the goodies now. If you can email me any websites to get the stuff from please do! sarmstrong@allsportinc.com
One more thing......what about my knees not hitting the tank pads correctly? I am used to a Yamaha and when I ride sport bikes I use my knees to help steer. With the Thrux my kness are below the tank and I feel like I am dangling off the bike. Could it be a difference in riding styles????

personally, i like to hang off a little. mostly, just weighting the outside peg, holding the tank with my outside knee/leg, and getting the butt off a bit. that sort of thing -- on my ninja though.

on the thruxton -- it is too hippity hoppity and i ride straight up. trying to scoot off the seat a little and she is likely to get unstable just as you hit the curve.

i guess the only style i use is "hope" and keeping on the feet, since i will take her fast through the corners; just letting her flop around when i hit uneven pavement. i say hope and mean belief, because i never seem to put a foot wrong with the thruxton. despite all the chassis movement she still stick like glue.

although i am not a speed demon, so ymmv :-D

Install some decent shocks and rubber, and you will have no problem dragging the pegs at your local track day.

When just cruising along, I sit up on the front of the seat, tight to the tank. It helps with the reach to the bars.

My tank pads need to be on my cam cover - my knees will never reach the tank. JCW

You don't need to install anything to drag the pegs, gearshift, and sidestand at your local trackday

The real trick, for me, is trying to hang off the bike in order to stop dragging stuff and go faster!
