I'm about ready for a new rear. Will the BTO 020 150mm work okay with the stock front tire, which is still in perfect condition?

if you are happy with the front? then putting a better rear tire won't be a problem.

i guess the fronts are lasting forever?

I asked the same question about two months ago. It seems the problem is that the stock tires are bias plys, and the BTO you want is a radial (or, at any event, they're two different kinds of tires). Because these two kinds of tires have different sidewall qualities, they'll treat turns differently. Even automobile drivers suggest that you avoid mixing types of tires, but it's gotta be a lot worse on a bike.

The jokers at Triumph have fitted a radial rear with a bi-ply front as original equipment. I have no idea why the hell they did it, but they did.
