Hey Guys,
Just got an 04 Black Thruxton with 2000 miles on it. What a fun bike to ride. I have been riding since 1965 and when I sat on this bike I smiled! Now I want to trick it out, I can never leave one stock, What would you all start with???
Looking forward to seeing you all around!
Stephen

First and foremost, I'd say dial up the folks at WORKS performance and have them hook up a pair of shocks for you. That is the A number 1 weak spot on a stock Thrux.

After that, ya just gotta have some sort of pipes, there is a fair assortment available these days, take your pick.

Enjoy...

i couldn't leave the dealers parking lot with stock mirrors -- yuck!

if those insect antennas are still on, that is what i would start with.

then tank badges.

then ... well, it's your bike: have fun :hammer:

Congratulations! I just brought mine home a few weeks ago myself.

I had Predator exhausts put on right away. Also had the AI removed, carb rejetted and put on a pair of Napoleon barend mirrors (required a little tiny modification).

Happy riding,

Welcome aboard. If you like to modify things, this is a great bike to work with. It starts out as a good bike but can be turned into a great one. As lenswerks said check out the members albums for as much inspiation as your wallet can stand. have fun-- thruxtonone

Hey Nightwind_15 , if you ever get into the N GA mountains for riding let me know with an email or PM - we could do some riding. As for as mods to the bike I started out with a clean up of the stock bike - fender, mirrors, turn signals, reflectors, tank badge, stickers, and then painted it. Followed this with fork and shock mods, then pipes and K&N's. They are great to work on and if you run into any problems the guys on this forum have probably encountered it already and can offer sound advice. Any mods your bike came with ? I didn't think there were too many bone stock thrux's left on the planet. JCW

Bar-ends are the first thing you should do. Then shocks. Then the usual round of mods to uncork the engine.

Just ride it! Winter will come soon enough and then you will
have plenty of time to work on her.

Enjoy! Cyn -

Hey Guys,
What a great group with great ideas! I will start surfing for the goodies now. If you can email me any websites to get the stuff from please do! sarmstrong@allsportinc.com
One more thing......what about my knees not hitting the tank pads correctly? I am used to a Yamaha and when I ride sport bikes I use my knees to help steer. With the Thrux my kness are below the tank and I feel like I am dangling off the bike. Could it be a difference in riding styles????
