During a ride yesterday I noticed a "clicking" noise at certain speeds. After playing around for a while trying to figure it out, I came to the conclusion it must be my helmet (Arai Signet Springer) as touching all zippers, visible and safe to reach bolts etc during the noise did nothing and it seemed "centered" in my head (much like stereo). No problems, I have owned a Ducati and am used to various noises...

On arriving home, I re-checked just to be sure... Found no source of the noise but did find my tach very loose (moves up and down approx. 1/4") and could see no signs of tightening up. I checked the two nuts on the back of the tach enclosure but they were as tight as I would secure anything on plastic.

Any thoughts? Is the loose tach normal? Do I need more cowbell?

Mine is loose too, seems like it just might be rubber mounted for vibration, not sure though

Same here. I tried to tighten it using the screws in the back, but after a while I got nervous about stripping the threads. It's still a little loose.

I can't see this being a coincidence, so I would assume that there is some reason why they have been left slightly loose.

Ditto..
I also have a cluck-cluck sound coming from the front over potholes and rough roads. Might be the tach?
