Guess what...another tire question...

Im sorry fellas...
I live in Illinois...home of the flat straight road...my rear tire wears in the middle...its not from over inflation...its because half the time I rode with the wife on the back on long straight roads...

Other than moving to another state with better roads...what would you guys suggest I put on...I think sport/performance tires would be a waist of money...

Thanks...

Do they make double compound tires for the thrux tire sizes? I was using Bridgestone BT016 triple compound tires and man they were my favorite.

There are multi-compound tires that are supposedly of harder stuff in the middle, and softer compound on the sides.

I know that dual compound exists already, I've heard of tri-compound that gets continually softer on the edges, but have not actually researched it at all.

Your never going to prevent flattening off your tire unless you strongly change your riding style. my rear tire flattened pretty well, and I have some pretty curvy roads here in VA, too much cruising back and forth to work on the highway and riding out to Winchester on Route 7

  • add 2-4 pounds PSI when riding two up.
  • Ride around Northwest Illinois (Galena area), Oregon - Lowden S.P. area and the Illinois River Valley (Starved Rock / LaSalle-Peru.
  • Lean waaaay, waaaay more when you turn in.
  • Stay off of any interstates, or any +2 laners.
Just kidding on the last two, but you get the rib. OhioRider turned me on to the 880's. Personally, I haven't tried 'em, but have heard good things. PM Ohiorider / Bob.

Regards,

Bob
