I was wondering if someone can help me out with this. I was wondering what would the best way to lower a 2004 thruxton? I'm 5'5'' and have a little trouble planting feet. Still tippy toeing around. I was thinking lowering links but anyone know the best ones out there or if its a good idea? (clearance wise)
I was also thinking about shaving the seat down. If anyone has done the two, would love some pointers.
Put the 1" shorter shocks from the Bonneville on the back or get some aftermarket ones that are an inch or so shorter. Then at the front slacken the triple clamp bolts and drop the triple clamp an inch at the front (ie slide the fork tubes up until there is an inch or so potruding from the top of the triple clamp) and re tighten. That should preserve the chassis geometry whilst lowering the bike by an inch. You'll only be able to make the front end mod if you have clip ons or else the fork tubes will come up and hit the bars.

Thanks a bunch nickwiz. Know of any nice black aftermarket shocks for the thruxton?
Thread jacker!!! lol jk. But dido any bonnies that want to swap suspensions? But I did find some progressive shocks that drop the bike an inch for 275. Might go with that. Thanks a lot!
I'm the same height as you. Rather than messing with the suspension, I would shave the seat down by an inch. Any good upholsterer should be able to do it. That's what I plan to do with mine. It will also be cheaper than buying new shocks. Also, a good pair of boots with a nice heel wouldn't hurt either.

Well I was planning on doing both lowering the bike and shaving the seat down. probably shave the seat down first. Found some progressive shocks for 275. I feel like a inch off the seat and a inch lower in suspension would be perfect for me. I dont think 1 inch off the seat will be good enough for me to feel comfortable.
