Lowered clocks

I have seen lowered clocks on bonnies and high bar thruxtons but can this be done for clip on thruxtons...and if so how? I never had a problem with the position of the clocks till I saw then lower and it just looks so much better!

Are you referring to this.... the pictures below are from a Bonnie but this is D9's layflat sport bracket which I believe will also fit a Thruxton.

I have an '07 and I lowered my factory clocks by swapping the headlight brackets (which lowers the headlight a little and repositions the ignition on the right side) then bolting the speedo/tach bracket to the underside of top yoke. There was a post with pics on how to do it. Try a search for "lowered gauges."

I did this a couple weekends back. Took about 30 minutes total once I had the few bits of new hardware, well worth it. Basically just found a couple spacers and washers at the hardware store, perhaps 3/8" thick to put between the gauge bracket and yoke, reused the stock bolts from the bottom, then put 4 short stainless screws to fill the holes left behind on the top. I'd thought about the d9 bracket and may still do it someday, but this looks pretty damn good to me as-is.

Ditto

have done the same mod on my Thruxton. instead of putting bolts in the top yoke ( after using the original bolts underneath ) I used the chromed plastic caps used for allen key bolts on top yoke for honda . Any bike caps would do.

cheers staf
