Centre stripe

Hey there. I have an '09 Thruxton, black and gold...EFI tank but carb'd and clip-on'd. I noticed today that the centre stripe on the tank is not centre on the bike when you compare it to the bars. Anyone else's the same? I am guessing it must be the way the tank has been screwed on but from what I can see there is no adjustment...and its at least 1cm out. Be interested in any comments before I mention it to the dealer. Thanks.

My tank stripe is straight but the one on my seat cowl is off by a bit. Seems like they would have some sort of jig to prevent this.

I noticed the same thing on my 08. Tank stripe tails off one way, cowel goes pretty straight. I try not to look at it too much since it sends my OCD into overdrive.

Does anyone know of a source for a replacement in the same color? I might want to mess with it one day.

I think you'd have to strip the clear coat off the whole tank to do it right. It would be a pretty big job. I personally keep the tank bag base installed all the time, so I don't even see it lol

Is the stripe off center or is your tank off center.
My 07 tank is off center just a bit. It seems the rubber mount at the front under the tank favors to one side. I can push the tank near the front and get it back on center but it eventually moves back off center. It's really not a big deal, but it is slightly annoying.

Thanks for the response guys. I am pretty sure its the tank thats off to one side not the stripe. I am feeling the OCD comment...once you know its there you can't stop looking at it! I will give Triumph a call in the morning (UK time) and see what they have to say

Awake in bed all night thinking about this issue..... Measured just now and my tail stripe is 5/8 off center at the seat end, tank stripe is a fat 3/8 off center at the seat. How will this affect my resale?

On a more serious note, this being my first Triumph, I'm really impressed with the quality of fasteners, connectors, plating(headers not withstanding), how hard is it to quality control putting a decal on where it belongs. Or is this an attempt at British motorcycle charm? The Germans would not stand for this!
