...for introducing the topic of cowbell on this forum.

So now it is obligatory to begin a list of ultimate cowbell songs...

I'll start with:

Lowrider by War
Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult.

Your turn, folks.

Why do we date ourselves? I was in a band around the time of most of these guys.... Cowbell was a way of life. Bang away baby!

The Babys - Looking for Love
Sanford and Son TV theme
Asia - Heat of the Moment
CCR - Down on the Corner
David Bowie - Diamond Dogs
Procol Harem - Whiskey Train
Kiss - Rock and Roll all Night
Foghat - Fool for the City
James Gang - Funk #49
Guns and Roses - Night Train
Jethro Tull - I think all of their songs!
Argent - Hold Your Head Up
Steve Miller - Jungle Love
Bee Gees - Jive Talkin'

I'll leave it at that...

:hammer:

Wow! Awesome. Lot of cowbell back in the 70s.

Hey! I've seen Jethro Tull in concert several times, dating back to the '70's and wasn't subjected to a single cowbell that I can recall. Of course, the concerts back in the '70's were generally witnessed in an altered state...so they may ALL have been playing cowbells.

Cowbell songs?

"Time Has Come Today" Chambers Brothers
"Brown Sugar" The Rolling Stones

Cowbells in Bungle in the Jungle? Man, I don't recall any but then that's never been a much listened to Tull song by me...or maybe my hearing is just shot...I'll have to spin it up on Rhapsody when I get back home on Tuesday.
