I really, REALLY like the way Clubman bars look:

Click for example

Many Thruxton owners seem to want aftermarket top yokes and risers so they can raise their bars. I, on the other hand, want them so I can trade out my clip-ons for clubmans. Too bad that would be a $300+ alteration that would achieve absolutely nothing except different appearing bars. :???:

So if I could find a Bonneville top yoke, I assume I could throw it on my Thruxton, right?

From what I understand, the Bonneville top triple clamp will not fit the Thruxton... If it did I don't think SoBay would have built their custom one.

But I agree I do like the clubman look, or even very narrow & low rise bars...

However, In the 70's when I had clubmans on all my bikes, I used to want clip-ons, go figgure!

Cheers y'all Cyn-

Thanks for your reply.

When I rode in college my friend and I would throw clubmans on everything. They pretty much single-handedly made my GS550 an acceptable ride (although just barely). Didn't work on his Ascot though. I later put them on a GS1000 and loved the low, brutish look.

This time around I had a hard time deciding between a Bonneville black and the Thruxton. I really wanted to take the black and add clubman bars and a cafe seat. Finally came to my senses and bought the Thruxton when I realized that I could spend an extra $2,000 to turn the Bonneville into the cafe I wanted, but I'd still basically end up with an underpowered Thruxton. :???:

Of course it would, a TBird top clamp fits the early S3 and LSL makes theirs. Have you priced a Bonnie top clamp and risers? Probably more expensive than the SoBay one.

The Thrruxton is basicaly a Bonnie with clipons...no reason the parts are unique.

Isn't the steering angle different? The off-set could be different too.

The steering angle may well be due to the 20mm longer shocks on a thrux, but I`ve been wrong before.[see fridays lotto numbers] :-D

A different steering angle can easily be attributable to longer shocks. Wouldn't you need to change both clamps if the offset is different?

Mancha,

When you're ready, I have clubman bars in 7/8" and 1" versions in-stock. M-Bars too.

Mike

Mike,

I almost bought a set of your clubman bars before I'd even bought my motorcycle, I wanted them that bad. :-D
