Got my Thrux

After months of chewing on this decision (and wearing down the wife's objections), I finally got my 09 Thrux!
I just wanted to introduce myself to the Thrux family! I've had this thing 2 days, and already looking for some new exhaust.

Once I get comfy, I'm planning to head up to the mountains for a nice day trip. However, as you Denver folks can attest, it has been raining every afternoon here for a month straight!

Congrats Monty!

I'm one month in with my '09 Thruxton and am just having a blast. I had an argument with a handful of Harley riders last week on the fact that the bike wasn't built 30+ years ago.

Be safe- all the best.

Oh Monty...Poor guy...now starts the obsessive compulsive checking this forum for new ideas on what to do to your bike; hiding invoices from Bellacorse/NewBonneville/British Customs/TPUSA so the wifey doesn't know what your doing; buying tools you'll never need more than once or twice a year (torque wrench); Trolling ebay looking for that grab rail you just know you can snag for less than 50 bucks!!! (never happens); saving pictures of customized Triumphs to a special folder and copying what others have to done to their bikes; worrying over which style of helmet looks best and saying "screw it!" and buying three different ones to suit your mood and road conditions; cafe racer jacket? leather or textile? BOTH!; boots or converse sneakers?BOTH!; Drooling over pictures of the Cafe Racer girl on her bike (you'll come across her soon enough); learing not to wave at people on scooters; parking among 20~40K bikes that get no attention when you pull up; and, of course, fielding the #1 question we all get constantly...drum roll....... "Hey, what year is that bike?"

Looking forward to those pics...

Congratulations and keep the shiny side up.

Be prepared to start riding 20-30 miles to get to the place you want to go...that would normaly take 5 minutes in your car...
