Finally got my bike on the dynamometer. More out of curiosity than anything else, I wanted some numbers from the NARK, pipes, and big bore work I had done pcn:

Werkstatt Racing uses the "eddy current dynamometer" which apparently is more accurate than the common dynojets (she told me the dynojet drum gets it's own inertia into the equation and it's ~10-15% exaggerative). What do I know...?

Anyway, here are some numbers (graph to follow tomorrow).

@ 74.24 RPM/106.2 MPH
67.7 HP
47.9 FT/LBS

@ 59.5 RPM/85.1 MPH
59.1 HP
52.2 FT/LBS

google results for conversion: 1 N-m = 0.73756 ft-lbs

Here is mine - but don't know type of dyno.

Showing the improvement with the jetting change - not got a standard bike to compare with though

Full info in the Jetting database

HP / PS is just a mathematical equation.
It equates to lifting a weight of 550lbs the height of 1 foot in 1 second.
An expected loss through a gearbox and final drive can be calculated....although I think as a general rule on a motorcycle they use approx 12%.
Therefore, 67.7HP + 12% =75.8 approx @ crank.

Be nice to see the curves shown overlaid with the standard spec.

What's the seat of pants dyno like??

you know, sometimes people can irritate the heck out of ya'
scheduling problems etc and they are driving me crazy!!
i got my numbers but no graph.

ssd:

ok... be calm grasshopper... so anyway. the bike feels great. overall, she is >90% perfect for me and i need nothing more power wise.

the numbers show that it is now basically a torque machine! with ~50ft/lbs across the board.

when i first got her i was surprised by the lack of power, but found it totally adequate; for the real world anyway just twist the throttle and she went.

now, when i am on it, i can't seem to work the clutch fast enough; she is super meaty.

the race prep shop remarked that the thruxton was surprisingly "peppy".

they are cool people but sort of mom-and-pop. i'll get my graph up as soon as they can manage to get it to me.

I reckon in the real world torque is what counts. I think Yamaha sees it as the way of the future too by the specs on that new MT-01.
How about a listing of all your mods, and which ones had the best gains?

K&N = "wheeee!"
902cc BBK with billet intake manifolds = "vroom!!"
I think the predators just got me increased volume to the whole wheee and vroom thing?

They haven't provided me with a graph yet, so I did a spreadsheet chart today:

Torque seems to go early and hold. By 3K RPM I am @ 51.4 ft/LBS. While the HP just climbs and climbs. And it feels like this on the bike too; seat of the pants power is zooming right thru the red line, which could probably be tuned to represent earlier.

Have to agree dumping the standard airbox seemed to give more gain than changing the pipes - but with the MotoTwin pipes it sounds wicked so I am happy
