Does anyone know of a good polish to help in removing/decreasing the patina? I know that a little bluing is part of owning a bike or better yet a Triumph, but I would like to control it a little if possible. I don't care to have completely chrome pipes, just something that will help eliminate some of the blue.

I tried this stuff called Blue Away.

Blue Away

Im sure you can pick it up at a local bike shop.

I think my bike may have been jetted incorrectly since my headers went past blue and hit purple in the first 200 miles. I decided to send them to Jet-Hot coatings. $140 to coat them inside and out. Cuts the outside heat down. Withstands temps up to 1300 degrees and its supposed to help you out in the HP area although i think with the low ponnies the Thrux has i doubt it will make much of a difference.

Jet hot coatings

Also you have your choice of coatings which is nice too.

I used old-fashioned Noxon metal polish on mine. In combination with a generous application of elbow grease, it gave a nice bluish gunmetal sheen which looks pretty good--not "burnt" looking as before, and still all business.

BTW, SurferJo, which of the Jet Hot coatings did you get? Do you like the look? Is it discoloring in use?

I went with the Jet hot Sterling. Its not as mirror like as chrome (which is good cause I dont like chrome).

As of right now i haven't gotten them back yet from Jet-hot (should be today or tomorrow).

The Sterling is good for temp up to 1300 degrees (Some of the others are good for up to 2000 Degrees).

If my bike hits temps higher than 1300 degrees I have bigger problems than Blue headers.

I looked around on the web and found a few other places that will do it cheaper with a wider selection of finishes but if you ask anybody that's into rodding they will tellyou Jet-Hot is the only way to go.
