Amal Carb question

I just rebuilt a pair of amal 930 carbs on a 68 triumph engine and one of them is leaking out of the enricher button on the side of the carb. I think I need to replace the float needles, but I've never had a carb leak from something like that before.

Sounds like the float needle isn't seating. Or the plunger for the tickler isn't returning to the top of its travel. Push the tickler a couple times to make sure it returns to the top. Gently tap the side of the bowl with the handle of a screwdriver. See if it stops leaking. If not, drop the bowl and make sure the needle is in the float and the float is properly adjusted to the correct height.

I'll second McQueen, though I'd just add that if it's a sticking tickler, I've found it works best to push the button down, then slide your finger off so it snaps back up more forcefully. It's not a bad opportunity though, to check float heights. I've had to adjust it in every last bowl I've encountered, and I've done a lot of tinkering on AMALs in the past few months thanks to a deal I got on a big box 'o carb parts. They all seem to be set a bit too high, and it makes a substantial difference in terms of flooding and erratic engine speed to get them right.

...nothing worse than a sticky tickler!

Another common possibility is a leaky float. Shake it to see if it contains any fuel. Replacement is the only option.
