Boyer Micro Power?

While I'm refreshing my '78 T140E I thought I might update the Boyer Mk III ignition system. I've heard there is a "Boyer Micro Power Digital Ignition System" available but can't find (haven't looked really) for a review.

The marketing blurb from Boyer makes this new digital ignition system sound like something that may be able to provide optimal performance through the complete rpm range. Anybody heard or taken the leap?

Thanks.

I don't know about the boyer, but I've heard good stuff about the Tri-spark classic twin EI

Pricey but compact, no black box and an LED to set pretty accurate static timing. I'm probably going to go with this when I get my T140 back together.

Tri-Spark

The Tri-Spark Classic Twin is by far a better unit than the Boyer, easy installation and the trigger voltage is lower. This means even on a low battery you will be able to start your bike. I had a Boyer Micro Digital fitted to my T120R starting was difficult it wouldn't tick-over and if my battery voltage dropped below 8 volts it wouldn't start. To say I was dissapointed with the Boyer is an under statement.
Since fitting the Tri-Spark the bike starts first time every time it ticks over at an even 600 - 700 rpm and it pulls like a train. It is a tad more expensive but you get what you pay for.

I'm convinced. Lots of good reviews on web. I think I will give it a try for my Tiger. And with the high US$ to Aus$ good timing. 295$Au ~= $195US. Maybe I can get $75 for my Boyer.

The bike spends 50% of it's time at the track, will the Tri Spark improve the 4500-7500 rpm performance?

tri-spark

Is the Tri-Spark a plug and play device or do you have to replace coils, regulator, etc?

The installation instructions downloaded from Tri-Spark dictate the removal of the points and the use of 6v coils, but that appears to be it.

Hi Andy, I get a good clean response from my own bike all the way up to 7000 rpm. I don't push it past this as it is a 40 year old bike with drum brakes and I'm down to my last 6 demerit points.
Good luck with the Tri-Spark, fitting is a doddle just follow the instructions.
