Rearsets for T140E

Has anyone had experience with the BCS (British Cycle Supply) rearsets? They appear to be much more simple than the Norman Hyde setup and are somewhat less expensive. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks...

Hey there,

I had the BCS units on my '79 Bonnie. And I purchased, but haven't installed the NH setup.

From a quick mockup with the NH rearsets, it looks like the BCS are slightly higher and farther back than the NH units. The NH units look to be much better quality. Don't get me wrong, the BCS units worked flawlessly, but the rubber on the pegs was so thin, my boots were grinding the rubber to dust in the span of a month. The NH rearsets have much better rubber on the pegs and look almost as if they came on the bike form the factory. Quality stuff.

I rode with clipons and the BCS rearsets. Cool stance. Fairly comfortable UNTIL you hit 2nd-gear type roads. So much weight was on my forearms in the slow, switchback type of stuff, that I lagged too far behind my buddies on rides. Plus, I use the bike to commute on through the city.

I swapped out the rearsets for the stock pegs and put on some NH M-bars (mounted "upsidedown"), and the stance is perfect for all types of roads and riding...at least for me.

Hope this helps.

Thanks McQueen, if you still have either of those rearsets and would like to sell them I am interested.
