71 Bonneville gear oil leak revisited???
Hi,
I posted a couple of weeks ago about a gear oil leak on my 71 Bonneville coming from a fitting on the forward side of the gear box inner cover and had no replies. I have narrowed it down to what I think may be the quadrant spindle. Does the spindle come through the inner gear box cover and is it held in by a carter (split) pin? I think that is what it must be. Has anyone had a gear oil leak from where that spindle comes through the cover, if so, is there a remedy?
