please help me eliminate the battery and re-wire my rig, thanks in advance

any help would be great, the blue mallory coil was given to me , i was told to "replace the battery with this", can anybody help with the correct way to wire this thing up ??

Unless you intend to be frequently dropping your bike ( competitive offroad racing? ) I really cant see the reason for discardingthe battery in favour of a capacitor. For all intents and purposes a battery can be viewed as a large capacity electrolytic capacitor anyway. Or to turn it around, a capacitor is a tiny battery that is likely to fail if you are sitting at the traffic lights with your headlight on ( as is required by law in most of Europe) and decide to toot your horn at a friend

Check Mecchanica's posts. He has described the wiring for a no-battery setup more than once.
