front forks damping
When I got my bike it was chopped, so I had to piece a front end together. The forks work ok, until I hit a series of bumps or one big one. The only manual that shows my configuration is the Haynes pre-unit book on page 77. Minus the nacelle, I have the forks with new tubes w/o the little holes in the bottom. The restrictor rod is six to eight inches long one piece. What I don't have is the upper and lower tube guides and a tube guide pin. What do these cheap looking tubes actually do? One has a slit, like a rolled tube ,the other is pinned to where? The top cap nut has no provision for the pin.
What can be done to improve rebound or damping?
