rebuild questions

I have a 1969 650 TR6R. I am rebuilding the top end and have a question on how to remove the cylinders. I have the head and everything else off and removed the 8 nuts on the studs that hold the cylinders on. Is there anything else holding them to the motor or should they just slide off now? I havent tried too hard to get them off yet I wanted to make sure everything was removed that needed to be. Anyone put on one of the 750cc big bore kits? Are they worth the money? That much more power over stock? Thanks for any input.

Wedge a piece of rubber between the cam followers to stop them from dropping into the crankcase. There is nothing else holding the barrels, but if they are proving difficult to remove put a nut on a stud, then another on the top of it acting as a spacer, then unscrew the nut on the stud which will push the spacer nut into the lower fin and slowly the more you undo it the more the barrel will lift breaking the seal on the gasket, easy!!!

Has the motor been 'sitting' for a while or has it been used? Patience is virtue, if it has been sitting awhile; some PB Blaster or similar penatrant to loosen things up. Once all your bolts are off, should be good to go.
