Pre soaking new clutch plates

I am in a conflict here, there posts that say do not pre soak new plates, and post that say soak 24 hours
My case is a Triumph T25 250cc which is basically a BSA B25 250cc, same motor both bikes in 1971. Essentially it is a triumph frame and a BSA motor.

I never, ever soak my clutch plates. The oil in there is really for the chain. Why do clutch plates slip and stick? Because the fiber plates get saturated with oil over time...and you have to ditch them or clean them up good. Put them in dry. They'll get all soaked with oil in due time.
