Polishing Tip :)

hey guys , i had to take a break from the restoration to get some work done on the house , but getting back to it .

today while out tool shopping (i've bought a new big compressor and can now play with all my old automotive air tools ) was looking for a mini polisher . no luck going to have to order one online .

however i did find at my local auto parts store a 3m headlite lens restoration system . it was @ $19 and it worked wonders on my gearbox cover . in like 20 mins most of the major gouges and scratches were gone and it was nice and shiny

i've got to do a little more and then i'll re-open my thread and update my progress on that and other stuff but thought i'd pass this on . it did in 20 mins what took me hand sanding my timing cover for 2-3 hours and i just used the 500 grit discs and then hit it with mothers polish using the polishing pad .

this is the kit i'm talking bout http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd-3m-3...ion-system.cfm

cheers , Woody

I have seen those around, but never thought of using them on metal!! if they work that fast I will have to pick one up and start on all my polishing work
