I'm looking for a lead on a choice of front hub to use on a project I am building. I have a set of vintage Ceriani forks which I modified to accept a disc brake, from a modern Daytona. I am currently using a hub from a modern YZ250 which I have adapted to the disc for a Hinckley Thunderbird. Still with me? It looks cool. I thought I had this all worked out only to discover a problem with clearance. I thought I could fudge a little. You can't. I never rode a bike that was out of alignment before. It is weird and unacceptable. Plan B. Lace the hub offset, still not enought clearance. Plan C. Locate a suitable hub that is narrower. Any suggestions? Plan D. Use a single piston brake that has no pistons on the backside. Anything come to mind that I could go look for at the wrecking yard? I am ashamed to say I already got another set of forks in case I have to abandon this whole stupid thing. Help!

Squod,

These guys do a LOT of font end/brake mods and parts swapping.

A few of 'em really know their stuff on Brit bikes.
Might be worth a try.....

Without seeing it, this is a guess. can you go to a wider triple, and space the disc over to the caliper? or get a narrow hub from A&A (TT style) and spacers to suit. I'm doing the same with my new '66, using cherianis and betor trees(wider). only I used vintage morris sevenspoke mags. keep us posted
