Does a twin leading shoe brake unit from a late 60's Triumph fit an earlier wheel with a single leading shoe brake unit. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes in certain cases, 8" or 7" but you need to understand that the surface which the shoes work on is wider on a TLS hub than a SLS.
The spokes on a TLS hub fit into a flange on the outside allowing the area inside the drum to be 33% wider than the SLS whos' spokes butt through the hub, INTO the inside of the drum.
The 1966 T120/TR6 has the TLS HUB but only the SLS brake plate with the wider shoes.
So if you have a flanged hub then the swop is easy. If you don't, then the shoes will be wider than the surface of the drum...................I hope I have described it, so you can understand.
