New primary chain...which one...?

Alot of people have been telling me to get the Renold. I saw that the Japan chain is half the price. I talked to the local "old Triumph guy" and he said he has been putting the Jap chains on for 10 years now with no complaints.

I ride my bike fairly hard and fairly often. It doesn't just sit and get looked at. Should I spring for the Renold or is the Jap chain just as good?

Primary chain or final drive chain? I've got a belt primary, but have been using Japanese final drive chains for years. Keep them clean, properly adjusted and lubricated and you won't have a problem with them. Check your sprockets regularly, especially the gearbox end (bit of a chew on) - if you keep the chain right, the sprockets should last, and vice versa.

I use Taiwanese parts (including primary chains) on my bikes all the time, and on SOME client's bikes depending on thier budget.

No issues to-date.

VWbuge don't use Reynolds on the rear, it stretches like chewing gum!

I'm talking primary chain, like it says in the heading.

So would the Reynolds primary stretch also?

No, the primary (duplex) chain seems to be made from better material. It's fine to use on the primary. For what it costs, replace the spring blade tensioner as well.
