Clutch cable routing???

How much heat can the clutch cable sleeve take?
I have a set of "high pipes" for my '69 TR6; it is routed very close to the clutch cable (boot area where connected to casing). They have been used on a Truimph before, but I have seen melted cable sleeves too.
Any suggestions on a possible "remedy" to prevent melting; not sure how much 'bend' is adviseable to route the cable away from the area?

Thanks,
Bryan

I just use a loose cable tie around the rear rocker oil feed pipe and route the cable under the front tank rubber, this should keep it well clear of the pipes.

TBS,
Thanks. I've been looking at photos of other bikes; not sure if they are riders or displays. The pipe is REAL close to the boot that comes out of the case. Hopefully with the 'mounting bracket' I will be able to direct the pipe one way or the other for clearance. Didn't know if I could possibly wrapp the cable with some heat material???

I always routed mine down the left side (sitting on bike) of the steering head and between the frame tubes. It will come out behind the r.h. petcock. Needless to say, make the bends as wide and smooth as possible. Mine's been fine for years, and I did the same on my old '70 TR6C model. No problem with high pipes.

Hope this helps: Jim
