my son's 1977 t140 front fender has a crack on top where the chrome fastener passes through the fender 1 1/2 long,what type of welding would do the job before i have it rechromed.Thanks Dennis

Dennis, TIG or oxy / acetelene, preferably TIG. it is sensible to take the guard to the chromers and get them to strip the chrome for you before the repair is done. Then you can polish it out and take it back for re-plating again. Just a thought, could it be cheaper to buy a new one???? Chrome is not cheap............ unless you know a man!
