Hi all. I tried to drain my gearbox oil and found that my American sizes will not fit without slipping and messing up the bolt. I thought I'd look for a socket set on E-Bay. I got these names from the Clymer Handbook. I need them for a '67 TR6 and '68 Bonnie. I would hope they would fit both. I remember hearing about these sizes back in the late 60's when I got my Spitfire, but I must have used/adapted pliers, wrenches, etc. because I didn't have the money to spend. Thanking all in advance.

You should be able to use a non-sloppy adjustable wrench. It doesn't need to be super tight either. If you cant get it off without slipping, make sure you get a 6 point socket. I will see what size it is tonight when I get home.

Smile Drain plugs

I used an 18mm 6-point socket on the drain plug and 12mm 6-point socket on the level plug. They worked well. The drain plug was chafed from prior use so I just lightly hammered the socket on.
