Left side. Veteran Brit bike guy I bought mine from said to always open both and I always have. Don't know if its myth or whether it prevents fuel starvation on the dual carbs.

Everything will be alright in the end.
If its not alright, its not the end.

Left Side. So you can turn it on while you're controlling the bike and the throttle with you're right hand.

IMHO, if you have both turned on all the time, you don't have a reserve. You'll find this out when you start pushing the bike to the next bowser. If you need both turned on to run properly, you have a problem you need to get sorted.

Looks like I put mine in backwards! I always thought Right/reserve. Never actually thought about the whole right hand on the throttle and left hand switching thing.

Looks like I'm taking over as the village idiot. Jim, you've been dethrowned!

I run my '79 with both taps on...because I like living dangerously (and I'm diligent about setting my trip odometer after every fill-up).
