a bit more information

When ordering parts, do not call this bike a T140. it is not. The engine if 1960 is probably a T110 or maybe a Thunderbird. The frame is not 1960 if it is a Triumph based frame that has been chopped. The head neck areas look familiar and may well be Triumph in origin, but earlier than 1959. If you could post the engine and frame numbers we might be able to give you more details,, This will help if you ever need parts for it.

regards

the coffin tail light is a hideous harley thing. the rear fender is too wide, sits too high, and should probably go. use a ribbed ford fender.

Not to get nit picky but it's a 'Tombstone' tail light.. and yes, ugly as hell.

White wall tires have been overdone to the point of being passe.

How will you do an open primary? Belt drive or "O" ring chain? Are you putting the ugly 6v alternator over the engine sprocket?

Usually this bunch recoils in horror when they see a non-restoration going on, but since that one is beyond restoration with some kind of weld on hardtail, maybe they are chilling out

oh that's right. i had to hold back the vomit when i saw it, thus causing my confusion.

and don't let these guys hassle you on a chop/bob triumph. a stock bike is only fun for 3 days. just no harley parts, no red rims, and no sporty/mustang tank.

Zudler, looks like you've got some work ahead of you. It is going to be your creation in the end so go with whatever style you like. If you like Harley tail lights and mud flaps on the fenders, go with it cause you aint gonna please everyone no matter what you do. Some people don't like choppers, some don't like plain stock 100% accurate restorations but all of us here like bikes. I like the classics myself but am also fond of heavily massaged street trackers that look like they would be at home on a mile oval. It's your bike man, enjoy it.

It looks like the guys at the chopper shop are helping get this guy on the road,so I'm not worried...I am interested about the primary drive...
