Exclamation Wrecked Manual Question on lubricants

I left my manual on the floor next to my bike and my buddy who lets me use his garage tipped over a big thing of oil and my book soaked it all up, well a portion of it, its a big book of oily mush now. And the only thing I have left now to get my 79 bonnne 750 on the road is to change the oil in the frame, gear box and engine could someone please help me with the amounts and weights of the oils that go in each. I know that weight for the oil that goes in the frame is 50 weight but not the amount. Id really be greatfull if someone could help me out. I got another book coming but it wont be here for a week or so. And I'd like to finally take it out.

Clymer manual. 750 oil 4.8 pints(2.5 liters) 20/50

Gearbox 16.9 oz. (500 cc) EP 90

primary 11.8oz (350cc) 20/50

Some of the motors share the primary with the motor oil. It wouldn't hurt to check to see if you have a place to add primary oil, go ahead. It will level itself out if it shares the oil.

So see If I got this right.

Oil for the Frame, On my model there is no oil tank goes in the frame, is 2.5 liter (50)

Gear box is (500CC)

And before filling the primary engine case see if it fills from the frame?

Also whats the easiest way to measure out 500 CC's of oil? This is something Im new to is filling a bike using CC's. All i can think of is a bing seringe or a turky baister. Im sure im wrong

The oils should have a readable scale on the side of the container. Any auto shop will have a plastic measuring cup. If youre unsure of the primary sharing the motor oil, drain the primary and put the required amount in it.

Mrsinister,
The proper amount of oil in the primary is 150cc.
You can measure the proper amounts in "CC" by using a plastic baby bottle.

thanks lutz. Also I take it that its 50 weight that goes in the primary aswell? What goes in the Gear box? Is it the same weight oil all across the bike?

Mrsinister,
I am sorry I failed to give you enough information.
The oil tank or frame should have approx. 6 pints of 20w50.
The gearbox should have 500cc of EP 80-90 gear oil.
The primary case should have 150cc of 20w50 the same oil as the engine.
Some people may have different ideas but I always go by what the
factory recomended and I as well as my customers have always have been satisfied
with the results.

The gearbox oil level can be set via a standpipe on the drain plug. Undo the small hex headed screw (7/16 AF) concentric in the drain plug and pour oil into the gearbox. When it stops running out of the concentric hole the level is correct, then re-insert the small screw. There should be a copper washer beneath it for sealing purposes.
