Bonne Blunder

I took apart the carbs on my 79 bonneville 750 and my throttle lines and went to put the throttle lines back in and cant seem to get the lower throttle lines right through the bottom of the bike to the junction. I posted once about this earlier this week and got no answers and Im still stumped. Do the lower throttle lines go on each side of the bike and meet at the junction? or does the left side line cross over to the rides side and then they both go to the junction? I cant seem to remember. Or get it right. Thanks again guys.

If I understand your question, the left carb throttle cable crosses over behind the cylinder block and joins the right side cable at the splitter on the right side of the engine. The single cable above the splitter runs up through the triple tree and into the twist grip. I have seen this cable routed through the opening in the RH side headlight mounting bracket, but on mine I get some bind if I route it that way. Be sure to route the cables using gentle arcs. Also, check with the engine running by turning the handlebars lock to lock. If you get an increase in revs you need to slack the cable adjustment off some.

Everything will be alright in the end.
If its not alright, its not the end.
