Look at what followed me home...

Well it was in the back of the truck...

1971 T100R, complete, unmolested original rolling project. Just what I was looking for.
Yeah it has lots of red chome but nothing that cannot be overcome.
I'm excited about how complete it is, makes for a good start...

Best,
Rob

Could it, possibly, be a candidate for "preservation" as opposed to "restoration". It looks pretty good, and they're only original once.

Woody,
I'm not sure other than it has good compression and kicks through nicely. I'll get a battery for it and check for spark and maybe even try to fire it. Prolly do a compression check first to get some numbers.
Thanks,
Rob

retrobiker,
I owe you an email, tonight when I get home... been running around like the proverbial chicken with the head chopped off...
Thanks,
Rob

Jim,
Possibly a preservation candidate however the front fender is bubbled up and the rest of the paint is really fairly thin in places, I can try to buff it up but don't hold out a great deal of hope for it. Besides I really do not care for Olympic Orange, prefer the dark red and black....
Either way it will be a nice project...

Best,
Rob

Rob, I have an extra book on the Daytona's by J. Nelson. When I catch up with you at the next ride I'll bring it. Rolf

Rob, a good starting point is an understatement. My project come in 16 boxes with one big bag of nuts and bolts all thrown in together. I would have killed for a complete bike to start from.

Enjoy the resto.

Hey Rolf,
How goes...? See you at a breakfast ride here soon...

Recognize this one...? To Jim Ballard's point, I restored this '70 but left the tank and fender paint original, so more of a Preservation.

Early non digital photos, shot with a digital this afternoon...

Cheers,
Rob

quagmire,
Yeah, that is usually the way I find them... in pieces...! I remember one 500 that I brought home and my Son laughed and laughed at the pile o stuff, sat down of the floor and started sorting things out and before long he wasn't chuckling anymore... This is how it came out.

Yup, this is a great start.

Best,
Rob
