Question Battery number for '71 T100R...?

I try to support the local small m/c shop when I need stuff so I attempted to buy a battery from them, no listing for the older Triumphs... They did tell me that if I can measure the area then they can cross it but I would rather have a number to start with.

Can someone here give me a Yuasa or other battery Mfr number for the '71 T100R...? I guess the dims would be good also but I can figure that from the battery box.

Thanks much,
Rob

Just measure it ( note orientation of teh lugs), and get the biggest capacity battery that will fit in the space available.

My "68 T-120" has a 12N7-4A in it. I can't remember for sure (it's been too long ago) but I think my "71" used the same battery. Sorry I can't nail it down any closer than that. I think every one else has gone to the races or something.

sorry rob , but my '67 t100c doesn't have a battery and i just checked my service manual and all it lists is an old lucas # .

probably just gonna have to go by measurements and terminal placement , however if you haven't tried them , get yourself an AGM (absorbed glass mat) . they're only a few $$ more , but well worth it . advanced auto parts has them right on the shelf .

Thanks Jim,
I'll see if that number calls for the size of the opening that I just measured up... I don't have a battery for the T100R to measure... I'm a little concerned about the height of it too....

Yeah Woody,
Glass Mat is the way to go, I have a couple in the Guzzis...
Thanks,
Rob

Rob D,
The proper battery for the 71 T 100 is a 12N94B1 I prefer Interstate .I have used them in my shop for over 20 years.

Ooops,
I bought a 12N7-4A.. seems to fit ok although I have a little concern for the height.... Just a touch high.
I'll just put a rubber mat on top of it. I recall needing to do that with others too from years ago.

Thanks Lutz,
Rob
