Cure for cracking license plate

I have noticed that ye license plate is cracking around where it mounts due to ye olde Triumph's engine vibration. I have purchased for $13 a chrome license plate frame, and will screw ye license plate to it at all four corners, thus eliminating vibration induced cracking of ye license plate. Pretty ingenious, ehhh?

I mounted my plate with small rubber washers on either side of the bracket and use a reflective frame that mounts in all 4 holes of the plate as well. It goes as such: Bolt throught frame and plate, rubber washer behind plate and on bracket, rubber washer on back side of bracket, steel washer and nut. This allows the plate a bit of "damping" from the vibes.

Now, if I could only rubber mount the fillings in my teeth (just kidding)..........Jim

Ahhh, rubber washers, now that really genius. Oh well, I'll give it a shot with just screwing ye new chrome license plate & frame to ye olde license plate bracket. I will use ye lock washers as well. My poor feeble brain doesn't know where to start to look for rubber washers, do they sell these in ye hardware store?

I just cut a piece of plywood to the same size as the plate, drill holes to suit and attach the plate to it. Mount the whole assembly onto the plateholder brackets. This then stiffens the plate and prevents cracks as well as stoping those that have already formed. Simple enough to do and its always worked for me.
