Now if I wanted to fit an Ammeter to my 71 T150?

Let's assume that I have a 1971 T150V AND that I have recently acquired a Lucas headlamp shell and a matching ammeter.

Exactly which wires would I intercept inside the headlight shell for the blighter to work.

This advice is accepted on the understanding that no blame or responsibility will ensue to the advisor should my Headlight burst into a blazing electrical inferno and I spontaneously combust in a spectacular shower of fiery thunderbolts...

On that model, you could not get an accurate reading with the existing wires in the headlamp shell.

You need to intercept the battery Negative (-) terminal cable and route it through the ammeter; use a heavy guage (16 or 14) multi-strand cable.
