On my 76 Bonnie the rear flashers work fine but the front ones flash very weakly. There appears to be a bad ground or something as the front ones flash the sane time along with the instrument lights. Any suggestions on what to look for or where. Rod

Hey Klicker, a ground isn't such a hard thing to trace as it first seems. If you insist on fooling with this old stuff I recomend you get a nice length of wire to use for testing. Put an aligator clamp on each end. For your current problem attach one end to the ground side of the battery, (I think negative by 1976) and clamp the other end on some clean metal on the turn signal. If it starts working it needs a better ground. It is conceivable that the only ground you have is through the ball bearings on the steering head. I made my own loom for my '64 and included a separate ground wire nearly everywhere. It helps, but Boyer is God.

When you say "flashers" are you refering to signal lights?

I can't imagine the front and rear not flashing at the same time; there is only one flasher unit and it sends juice simultaneously to both the front and rear on one side.

If there is a bad ground, there is no flash, front or rear, but possibly just always on.

If the flasher is failing, both front and rear flash slowly together or not at all.

If you used a different bulb or bulbs than original, you may get slower flashing, but both front and rear simultaneously.

Sounds like you are describing one of those "you can'tget there from here" items.

Another note, the Triumoh flasher isn't cheap, but aftermarket and automotive equivelents are no less expensive and don't seem to work as well.

I've been through all those thing on my '76 Bonneville.

In my experience, it's usually all or nothing with respect to flashers, but always front and rear in unison.

It was the ground on the front flashers. I have them working but no power to the head light I don't know what I did because I had power last week. Rod
