I started out with high hopes of restoring my tiger to a "concours" condition. It really is more of a pain in the @$$ than its worth. I got about 90% there and its the little nut here, washer there, and hose clamp that will get you. Who wants to spend months looking for the right bolt and nut to hold the engine mounting plate on. The primary side back plate, ther is one bolt the is under the foot rest, I had to get a modern stainless nut and bolt because I didn't have the correct one. So it isn't cad plated like the rest. You can't see it unless you hunt for it but I would loose points in a show..............Big deal.
You do all the work and spend all the time and in the end you have a bike that is worth too much money to ride. As soon as you take it out on the road you need to spend hours cleaning it off. Too much effort as far as I'm concerned.
I've said it before, restore them and ride them like they were meant to be!
