Disater
Dear Fellows,

After a week of pleasure riding, last night was a total disaster. Went to see my sister who lives in suburbs yesterday, bike was running very smooth with a great sounds, every now and then when i stop at red light, people were asking about the make and model of the year and i was collecting token of appreciations, reached my sister's house safely, had a dinner with my nephews and at 12 midnight started the bike to get back to home, i took national highway to avoid traffic signal and then a series of mis fortunate begun, first i got the flat tire, i drag this giant motorcycle of about 200 Kg for almost 2 KM at 2AM in the night, found a tire shop, got it fixed and after a few KM right side exhaust bend pop out, i found that the muffler guy did not used the proper bolt to fix the bend, any how i got it fixed, but after few km i noticed that engine sound is little bit change, stop the bike and noticed lot of oil was leaking, found that unfortunately oil pump is not working and one more thing, tire goes flat again.

it was a horrible night, it was 4am and i left the bike to nearby gas station, i think every thing in life does not go smoothly, we have to suffer some pain, what you guys say.

I would say your eventful evening is a little ABOVE AVERAGE for these old bikes.

Not so sure a significant oil leak can be traced to the oil pump. Make sure to look carefully at the source of the leakage.

Have you re-torqued the head after some running time, since you rebuilt the top end?

GrandPaulZ,

Head was not re-torqued after running time, please guide me more about this feature.

Crank case was full of oil since oil pump is not rotating the oil back to the oil tank and because of this oil is coming out from the bottom part of the engine.

help requested from everyone.

Jan

Before you worry about re-torquing the head you need to figure out why your not returning oil. Take the oil pump off and make sure you used the right gasket and all the holes lined up. Recheck everything and make sure the plunger is attached to the gear in the correct way.
