Cylinder Block removal,Cylinder TDC ?

I'm replacing the cylinder base washer because of a bad leak. Just needed suggestions for removal of the cylinder block, needed clarification on cylinder TDC. Bike is T100C w/ boyer

After you pull the head, rotate the engine till the pistons are at BDC, all the way down. that way, the cylinder will free off at the lowest possible height (the crank will want to spin free and let the pistons rise, unless the bike is in gear).

As soon as you see some daylight, stuff some rags under the jugs and put rubber bands on the tops of the pushrod lifters so that they stay in thier proper bores.

That's about it.

Unless you're looking for an excuse to split the cases I'd put rubber bands on the tappets before you even start lifting
