If you have a single carb, you will also need an inlet manifold to go to an Amal. The Mikuni manifold is different. Are you setting the lever in the right position? It's DOWN to start, up to RUN. When cranking, DON'T SNAP OPEN THE THROTTLE....leave it on the stop.
Measure your Mikuni bore. Most are 32mm, but I've seen 34s and even 36s on hot rods. If you want to sell the carb, adaptor, and manifold, let me know. Or trade for something.

Yeah i know what position the lever is supposed to be in and im positive im not cracking the throttle. Ill measure the size when it comes off. Anyone have a manifold they want to sell? Or know of where i can aquire one?

I found some manifolds on ebay listed for 650s. Are the 650 and 750 manifolds interchangable?

I don't think so, not sure about different models. I think 750 tracts are stright, 650 are splayed.
