see my 59

Hi, after hanging out here for a fewyears(Red59) i FINALLY GOT MY BIKE on the net. It is in youtube.com under 1959 triumph motorcycle. It's the one that takes the viewer through my messy garage. When I figure this site out, I'll post it on here. Just keep in mind it was a screwed up chopper when I got it. Everything was broke or about to break. It even had a rock in the gas tank. Go figure! Since I purchased it in 99 a few bummers came my way and slowed the rebuild process. 1 a semi rear ended me on my Road King and I was out with a broken back for about 6 months before I coiuld work on it. 2 I moved and lost my "Bike Garage" and "Bike Basement" So I could only work on it in the tiny space you see on the video durring the Spring and Fall. Bummer 3, I got stuck on third shift and turned into a zombie for three years. Bummer 4: My job transferred me to a place where there was no longer access to a paint booth. I painted it with RattleCan in the great outdoors. I figured I'd never live long enough to restore it myself, so I built it as the bike you see. It's been running sice 2004.I belive it qualifies for "Period Modified" in the Antique MC Club.. If someone knows how to put the 'instant web link on here I'd appreciate it. Thanks to GP , Mechanica and everyone that clued me in on it's idiosyncracies.

Nice bike, you're right, you do have a cramped garage. 1959 is sure a classic year, so hold onto that baby. To do the photos, I set up an account at photobucket, took digital photos and loaded them on my computer, then uploaded some of the photos to my photobucket account, then there's an identifier at the bottom of any photobucket picture in my account that looks like: [IMG]http:// ...... .jpg[IMG] with the info identifying the specific pictures where I have ...... and if you copy and paste [IMG]http:// ...... .jpg[IMG] (there's actually a / before the second IMG but if I put that in now, the thread thinks I'm trying to post a picture) into a thread here in triumphrat your photo should ... poof ... show up in the thread. So let's see some photos!!

OK, here's what you do. Log in to your photobucket account. At the bottom of each photo in your album, there's some lines with computer stuff, one of them, the bottom one in my album is called IMG CODE, just to the right of where it says IMG CODE is the image code itself, which looks like [IMG]http:// ...... .jpg[IMG], put your mouse pointer right over that line and left click the mouse button, this will highlight the entire line, then click with the right mouse button and choose "copy". Then go to Triumphrat, and reply to this thread, type whatever message you want, and where you want to put the photo in the message, right click the mouse button and choose "paste" and the IMG CODE that you copied before will show up, and that's it, look at preview post and the picture should be in there, then submit your reply and the picture will be there for everyone to see.

Gleamer ; It worked! I'm a geek! I've waited for years for this moment! This is the only digital pic I have. I have a borrowed camera and will get some more taken in better surroundings. Just got the last of the MAP filter together and went to a Quaker Steak bike night. Check out that front fender stay that is hangin on the wall. It is about 1/2 inch or so too short. It is powdercoated and up for trade! I think most of my front end is 1968. But I'm not sure. it was pieced together from swap meet parts and Franks Forking. The bike was a messed up chopper when I started tearing into it a few years back. Most of the front end was scrapped. The rear fender is a bobbed Bonnie fender and resembles a Trophy fender, so I had to use a period piece replacement tailight.

Nice job Martin.
Are you going to try and bring it back to stock or keep it as a special?
Do you happen to know what the chain guard has come off? Looks interesting.
Great first pic as well.
Cheers

Looks very similar to the chain guard on my 1937 Norton 16H . . . .
